IELTS Preparation Courses Now Available on LearningBro
Whether you need IELTS for university admission, immigration, or professional registration, preparing effectively can make the difference between hitting your target band score and falling short. We have just launched 10 IELTS preparation courses covering every component of the test — with 100 lessons and 1,000 practice questions to help you reach Band 7 and beyond.
What Is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System is the world's most widely taken English proficiency test, with over 3.5 million tests taken each year. It is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
IELTS comes in two versions:
- Academic — for university and higher education admissions
- General Training — for immigration, work, and training purposes
Both versions test the same four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Scores are reported on a band scale from 1 to 9, with half-band increments.
What Our IELTS Courses Cover
We have structured our IELTS preparation into 10 focused courses, each with 10 lessons and 100 multiple-choice practice questions.
Getting Started
IELTS Overview & Study Planning walks you through the test format, band scoring system, registration process, and how to build a realistic study plan. If you are new to IELTS, start here.
The Four Skills
Listening Skills breaks down all four sections of the Listening test, from social conversations in Section 1 through to academic lectures in Section 4. You will learn strategies for each question type — form completion, multiple choice, matching, map labelling, and more — along with how to handle spelling traps and use your transfer time effectively.
Academic Reading covers the three-passage, 60-minute Reading test in detail. Each question type gets its own lesson: True/False/Not Given, Yes/No/Not Given, matching headings, sentence completion, multiple choice, and diagram completion. You will also learn skimming and scanning techniques to manage your time across all 40 questions.
Academic Writing Task 1 teaches you how to describe visual data — line graphs, bar charts, pie charts, tables, process diagrams, and maps. You will learn the vocabulary and grammar structures examiners look for, how to select key features, and how to structure a clear 150-word response in under 20 minutes.
Academic Writing Task 2 covers the essay component. You will work through every essay type: opinion, discussion, problem-solution, advantages-disadvantages, and two-part questions. Each lesson includes paragraph structures, cohesion devices, and model approaches that target Band 7+ criteria.
Speaking prepares you for all three parts of the Speaking test. Part 1 (familiar topics), Part 2 (the cue card long turn), and Part 3 (abstract discussion) each have dedicated lessons. You will also cover fluency techniques, vocabulary range, grammatical accuracy, and pronunciation features that examiners assess.
Building Your Language Skills
Grammar for Band 7+ targets the grammatical range and accuracy needed to move beyond Band 6. Lessons cover complex sentences, conditionals, passive voice, relative clauses, reported speech, articles, tense usage, and the most common errors that cost marks.
Vocabulary by Topic builds your lexical resource across the 10 most common IELTS topics: education, environment, health, technology, crime, urbanisation, globalisation, work, media, and science. Each lesson includes key vocabulary with definitions, collocations, synonyms, and example sentences you can use in both Writing and Speaking.
General Training
General Training Reading & Writing covers the differences between GT and Academic, with dedicated lessons for GT Reading Sections 1–3 and the letter-writing Task 1. You will learn how to handle notices, advertisements, workplace texts, and formal, semi-formal, and informal letters.
Exam Strategy
Test Strategies & Mock Practice brings everything together with time management plans, common mistakes that cost half a band, strategies for each paper, and a complete guide to test day — including what to do if you want a remark afterwards.
How the Courses Work
Each lesson combines clear explanations with practical strategies you can apply immediately. Every lesson ends with 10 multiple-choice questions that test your understanding of IELTS formats, strategies, and language skills.
As you work through the questions, you can use the AI tutor if you get stuck — it provides hints that guide you to the answer without giving it away.
Your progress is tracked across all courses, so you can see which areas need more work and focus your revision where it matters most.
