The futur simple (simple future) is used to express future actions in a more formal or definitive way than the futur proche. It is a single-word tense — no auxiliary needed. The formation is straightforward for regular verbs: add specific endings to the infinitive.
Infinitive + future endings
For -re verbs, drop the final -e before adding the endings.

Tip: These endings look exactly like the present tense of avoir (ai, as, a, avons, avez, ont) — minus the "av" for nous/vous. This is not a coincidence; historically the future tense developed from the infinitive + avoir.
