Cultural Note: Italian security staff can seem brusque compared to other countries. This is normal — don't take it personally. A polite "Grazie" after clearing security is always appreciated.

Italian airports use the 24-hour clock. Key numbers to know:

Tips for Italian Airports

Fiumicino (FCO) is Rome's main international airport; Ciampino (CIA) handles budget airlines
Malpensa (MXP) serves Milan for international flights; Linate (LIN) is closer to the city centre
Always validate your train ticket before boarding if using regional trains (not required on the Leonardo Express)
Keep your boarding pass and passport accessible — you may be checked multiple times
Italian airports have excellent cafè bars for a quick espresso before your flight
