Pronunciation Practice: 음료 uses the ㅁ batchim + ㄹ combination. By the ㄹ rule, this is pronounced "음뇨" (eumnyo — the ㄹ becomes ㄴ after ㅁ).
K-pop is a great way to practise Hangul. Try reading these famous song titles:
| Hangul | Romanisation | Artist |
|---|---|---|
| 봄날 | Bomnal (Spring Day) | BTS |
| 사랑을 했다 | Sarangeul Haetda (Love Scenario) | iKON |
| 좋은 날 | Joeun Nal (Good Day) | IU |
| 빨간 맛 | Ppalgan Mat (Red Flavour) | Red Velvet |
| 거짓말 | Geojinmal (Lies) | BIGBANG |
| 하늘을 날아 | Haneureul Nara (Fly to the Sky) | — |
| 눈, 코, 입 | Nun, Ko, Ip (Eyes, Nose, Lips) | Taeyang |
봄 = ㅂ + ㅗ + ㅁ = bom (spring)
날 = ㄴ + ㅏ + ㄹ = nal (day)
봄날 = bomnal → pronunciation: 봄날 [봄날] (no rule changes here)
사 = ㅅ + ㅏ = sa
랑 = ㄹ + ㅏ + ㅇ = rang
을 = ㅇ + ㅡ + ㄹ = eul
Linking: 사랑을 → 사랑을 [사랑을] → the ㅇ batchim links: 사랑을 sounds like "sa-rang-eul"
했 = ㅎ + ㅐ + ㅆ = haet
다 = ㄷ + ㅏ = da
했다 → ㅆ batchim + ㄷ → tensification: 했따 [haet-tta]
Korean names consist of a family name (1 syllable, usually) followed by a given name (usually 2 syllables):

| 이서연 | I Seoyeon | 이 (Lee/Yi) |
| 박지훈 | Bak Jihun | 박 (Park) |
