This practice set uses passages about social issues, politics, government policy, education, economics, and related topics. These passages are common in the UCAT VR and can be tricky because candidates often have strong personal opinions that interfere with objective passage-based reasoning.
These passages frequently feature:
| Trap | Example |
|---|---|
| Personal bias | You support the policy, so you assume positive outcomes the passage does not confirm |
| Attribution errors | Passage says "some economists believe X"; statement says "X is true" |
| Geographic scope | Passage discusses England; statement claims it applies to the whole UK |
| Temporal scope | Passage discusses 2022 data; statement generalises to "always" |
Read the passage excerpt, read the statement, and decide: True, False, or Can't Tell. Base your answer solely on the passage provided. Your own knowledge and opinions do not count.
