Giving Reasons with weil

When you give a reason using weil (because), the verb goes to the end of the clause:

Geschichte gefällt mir, weil der Lehrer lustig ist.	I like history because the teacher is funny.

Exam tip: Always use weil with the verb at the end to justify your opinion. This is one of the most important structures in GCSE German. Practise it until it is automatic.

Describing Your School Day

Die Schule beginnt um acht Uhr. Wir haben sechs Stunden pro Tag. Jede Stunde dauert fünfundvierzig Minuten. Um halb elf haben wir eine Pause, die zwanzig Minuten dauert. Die Mittagspause ist um ein Uhr und dauert eine Stunde. Die Schule endet um halb vier. Nach der Schule gibt es AGs wie Fußball, Chor und Theater.
