Understanding school rules, uniform policies and the structure of the education system in Spain is essential for GCSE Spanish exams. Exam tip: Using a variety of obligation and prohibition structures shows excellent range of language. Don't just use "hay que" repeatedly — mix in "se debe", "está prohibido", "no se permite" to demonstrate variety.

Exam tip: School uniform debates are a classic GCSE writing/speaking topic. Prepare arguments both for and against. Use conditional sentences for higher marks: "Si pudiera cambiar una regla, quitaría el uniforme porque creo que no permite la expresión individual."

Exam tip: Being able to compare the Spanish and British school systems demonstrates cultural knowledge and can earn you marks. Use comparative structures: "En España los alumnos no llevan uniforme, mientras que en el Reino Unido es obligatorio."
