Being able to describe holiday activities and talk about the weather is essential for GCSE Spanish. Weather vocabulary appears in listening and reading exams frequently, and describing what you did on holiday requires confident use of the preterite and imperfect tenses.

Exam tip: In listening exams, weather is often tested. You may hear a weather forecast (un pronóstico del tiempo) and need to match weather symbols to regions. The imperfect tense is used to describe what the weather was LIKE during a holiday ("Hacía sol" = It was sunny), while the preterite describes weather events ("Llovió" = It rained).
