The pronoun en is one of the most frequently used pronouns in French. It replaces phrases introduced by de (of, from, some, any) and also replaces expressions of quantity. It is essential for avoiding repetition and sounding natural.
When a verb or expression is followed by de + a thing (not a person), en replaces the entire phrase:

|---|---|
| Je parle de mon travail. | J'en parle. (I talk about it.) |
| Elle a besoin d'aide. | Elle en a besoin. (She needs some.) |
| Il a peur des araignées. | Il en a peur. (He's afraid of them.) |
| Je me souviens de ce jour. | Je m'en souviens. (I remember it.) |
| Tu es fier de ton résultat ? | Tu en es fier ? (Are you proud of it?) |
