Now that you can form the congiuntivo presente, it's time to learn when to use it. The most common triggers are expressions of wishes, desires, opinions, and beliefs in the main clause.
When the subject of the main clause wants, desires, or expects something from a different subject, the subordinate clause takes the subjunctive.

| esigere che | to require / demand (that) | Esige che noi arriviamo in orario. |
| aspettarsi che | to expect (that) | Mi aspetto che tu studi. |
